Halong Bhaya Cruise Book now

Halong Bay Cruise ship Bhaya was inspired by the majestic luxury of the ships used by Vietnam’s Imperial Emporers. To ease themselves of the lofty worries of imperial reign and the constant plotting and counter-plotting of the imperial court, Vietnam’s Emporers would seek the isolated safety and seclusion of their imperial vessels. Halong Bay has always been a favorite destination.
Launched in July 2007, the first Bhaya cruise ship features twenty luxurious cabins furnished in classical style. The ship can accommodate up to 40 passengers for either 1day/2nights cruise or 3days/2nights cruise in Halong Bay. In November 2008 & 2009, launched Bhaya Classic 2 & 3. Together, the three ships offer 60 luxurious cabins and suites and an exciting array of activities and facilities for you to enjoy as you discover the scenic delights of Halong Bay.

Mr Thomas Clement From North London in UK
Reviewed June 28, 2012 “Great option in a multitude of choice”
We booked this cruise after trying to wade through the numerous crusie companies, Tavel agent hard sells and Internet reviews that you come across when planning a trip to halong bay.
We used our hotel (old centre Hanoi) as the agent and went for a 3 day/ 2 night package that came to $260 pp. the hotel looked after our big luggage (I would recommend this as boat room store space is limited) and gave us a free airport transfer as an insentive. After a seamless pick up we where given tickets for bhaya classic 3 with a second deck room. There was some worry which boat we’d be on as they do vary alot. However these where put aside once we step on board and found our room clean, well set out with its own private balcony. We where delighted and after seeing that the top royal rooms “private” sun deck where was looked down from by all other cruisers felt that the extra cost for that room was not worth it.The cruise itself follow a pre determine route that all the boats go on. There’s a bit of local culture sign seeing at a floating village which is interesting.Swimming and jumping off the boat is great fun though I managed to end up going head first off the top deck, watch out the sides of the roof are slippery when wet!The second day the six people that had booked 2 nights where taken to another smaller vessel (though this was still massive for the size of the party) to cruise the bay more extensively. Because of strong waves we did not make it to the cat ba island which was a disappointment. We where instead taken to a “beach”. The water was full of litter and the peace broken by Vietnamese day tripper boats blasting out indistinguishable nam pop music. Leaving there shortly after arriving (our group just returned to our boat) we spend a lazy afternoon swimming and kayaking. On return we pick up where we left off swimming and taking in the scenery. The boat repeated the previous nights journey, where was fine since the first night we sailed in a fantastic storm (rain, thunder but thankfully no sea chop). The food was outstanding and they prepared a birthday cake for my wife, lovely touch.
I would recommend this company if you want to experience halong bay in a little luxury and after seeing the othe boats on the bay would say that we booked the best large one around

    ” 3D/2N Highly Recommended!”

The decision as to which cruise company to choose for our Halong Bay trip was the most researched decision of our whole trip to Vietnam. We really wanted to make sure that our time in Halong Bay would be memorable…for the right reasons. We decided to book a 3D/2N cruise on the Bhaya Classic III (via the official website). I remember thinking that the cruise was pricey at the time but right now I have no regrets whatsoever. Here’s my experience:1. Car JourneyTravelling by car / bus in Vietnam can be a frightening experience at times but it is certainly not an experience sacred to those who drive out to Halong Bay, it is a country-wide issue which everyone will experience throughout their time in Vietnam. For this reason I cannot complain about our ride out to Ha Long Bay, it was, as expected, filled with beeping horns and bumpy roads, a common feature of all Vietnamese roads.2. Safety & Boat:The boat is comparably newer than other junks in the bay. The Bhaya III was apparently one of the newer junks and each room had its own balcony. There were life jackets under each seat in the restaurant and a safety talk when we arrived on the boat (through a shower of rose petals). The rooms contained several safety features also (hammer, torch etc). The boat itself was beautiful! The rooms were spacious with a separate shower room and toilet, toiletries provided beside the modern sink and a beautiful balcony with a table and chairs. The bed was far more comfortable than we expected for a boat.3. Food & Drink:Some of the best food we ate in Vietnam. It’s at this point that I would stress, if you have 2 nights (and the money) to spare for the 2 night cruise, it is worth it almost for the food on the second night alone. The first night there was an option between steak and seabass, we enjoyed a lovely 5 course meal (prawns, passion fruit mousse, soup) all well presented and tasty. On our second night we enjoyed a 5 course meal which included the best rack of lamb I have ever tasted, pea soup, a rice cake filled with seafood, pork medallions and cinnamon mousse, it was comparably better than the meal we had enjoyed on the first night. The seafood lunches were nice (apart from lunch on the day boat, lunch is served in buffet form – still quite a nice buffet), breakfast was more substantial for those on a 3D/2N tour (omlette, sausage etc).TIP: Make sure you book an outdoor table for dinner as soon as you can when you arrive. The tables outside (for 2 people) are private and romantic for dinner. In terms of drink, coming from a country where a beer costs €5 on average in any bar, I cannot say that I felt ripped off paying $2.50 for a Tiger beer on what I would consider to be a 5 star cruise. Also, happy hour runs from 5-7 which offers 2-4-1 on cocktails and beers. There is a house wine for $33, we tried it with dinner, lovely wine. Cokes are $2. On the whole, although we were in Vietnam, we were on a high-end cruise which is no different to any 5 star hotel, the prices will always be comparably more than market price.4. Itinerary:The fishing village tour was a great experience, as were the caves. The cooking demonstration was pleasant (made so by the interesting people on the boat at the time). The squid fishing was really just a few sticks with lights on the ends being thrown into the water, nothing special. The Tai Chi in the morning was a great 6am experience which we only managed to attend once. I felt as though the tours were slightly lacking in retrospect. Both the caves and the village felt very touristy, not very genuine.5. Why stay a second night?Do not be afraid of the day boat! Our day boat had a sun deck on top, a small dining room and a chef / guide on board. There were only 6 people on board so we had the option to go to a remote part of the bay for a full day of kayaking, bathing, swimming and exploring the karsts / beaches. We were the only people in this part of the bay and got to kayak for 3 hours (completely isolated from everything and everyone), and we ate a great seafood lunch prepared by the chef on board. I felt I was truly in Halong Bay for the first time. It was an experience of a lifetime. If I had not spent this extra day in Halong Bay I feel as though my review would have a few more negatives.Beware: The 1N cruise has you on board the cruise for lunch time and you are gone from the boat at 10.30 the next morning, this kind of rushed trip of the Bay would not have been our type of thing at all. Then again, if you are not partial to kayaking / lying on a boat in an isolated part of the bay for a day, the 3D/2N trip might not suit you either. Different strokes for different folks.

    “Nice Experience”
Beautiful boat with old world charm. A trip to Ha Long Bay on the Bhaya is like stepping back in time. The boat is beautifully decorated and well equipped, the lunch on board was as good as any 5* restaurant. The bay its self is like entering a alternate planet lost in time. The bay people are happy to welcome you into their world and proud to show off their homes & families. The floating islands and deep green waters makes a trip to the bay unforgettable. I would highly recommend the Bhaya for quality & customer service.
